Postmodernist context of well known work of Vereshchagin – mountain from money. Money as a physical embodiment of beauty.  An aesthetics of possibilities, solvency and respect.

In the east use of money in an ornament has deep roots, and bears in itself difficult aesthetic and social aspect. In relation to art, what could be more beautiful than money?


“Fish” video installation, 3 min, 2003

Fish is flying inside the cage. Fish is a symbol of human soul. They are beautiful, lively, but could never escape from that cage.


“Shaman” video installation, 3 min, 2004                                               

“Shamanism, dark faith – is one of the primitive kinds of religion. The Supreme essence is a sky or “tengry”, but it’s abstract and doesn’t interfere to the world matters, last one are in hands of minor gods, kind and malicious; the head of malicious is  shaitan. Priests called as shamen; distinguishing feature of  shaman is ecstasy, talking with a fire. Prevalence in Asia …”

In this ironic video art shown a worker who was going to pitch a roof. His moving under a rhythm of drums reminds a certain ceremonial dance, worship fire. All this was poured out in an image of modern, urbanity “shaman”.

 Desert landscape – natural atmosphere, torn by a powerful influx of the river (noise), which consists of the symbol of Western civilization. Time passes and the landscape radically changed in urban.
